Isolated solutions have limits!
Systems which are based on ASP, PHP or J2EE are mainly build up isolated. They work in closed environments and are being updated there as well. Due to the increasing information overflow data must be made available locally. The reuse of data in different ways and forms becomes very important. Isolated solutions however cannot fulfill this requirement because of their structure.

Similar requirements can be standardized an reused so that the development can focus on it' s principle tasks. .NET-applications can be adopted easily to new demands. Therefore they garantuee a long term and safe investment.
Speed it up!
.NET has an excellent performance because of the consequent integration on basis of a unique developing environment. An application which was transferred from J2EE to .NET for demonstration purposes was for example 10 times faster than the original and with more users at the same time and lower workloadf of the hardware. The programming code offered the same functionality and was reduced to 1/3. Other international tests prove the better performance of .NET as well.
The new standard of Microsoft
Microsoft is on the way to set a standard with .NEt for all it's products, for example for the new enterprise-databsase system SQL-Server which is presently under construction with the code name "Yukon".
Even competitors get prepared for .NET
Even other manufacturers have recognized the benefits of .NET and have redefinded their strategies. Among others Borland has to be named as one of Microsoft's most important competitor. This companies are sure that the concept of .NET will mainly influence the IT-infrastructure of the next decade.
