PGK presents Intranet Search IntraSeek
PGK Software & Communication, Germany has released today the beta version of its web-based fulltext search engine IntraSeek for intranets. The software for the first time enables a centralized search access to shared and personal documents for all employees in the internal network, even from outside through the internet.
Time consuming searches in different folders with insufficient results belong to the past. IntraSeek now finds electronic information within the complete scope of the user. With just one search personal emails from Exchange Server as well as shared documents from the complete network can be found.
The fully web-based solution is centralized but nevertheless personalized. Within split seconds previously indexed Microsoft Exchange and network resources of a company are being searched. Individual user rights are recognized due to IntraSeek’s single-sign-on and a full Active Directory integration.
Search results from documents, emails including attachments, contacts, appointments and much more get found at high speed and displayed in the preview. Even a mobile access and downloads through the internet can be managed easily just via any web browser. Office documents like Word, Excel and PowerPoint are being supported as well as PDF-files and pictures. ZIP archives are being extracted automatically and their content is being considered as well.
Related contents and other connected criteria can be displayed with one click thanks to innovative Search Tags. If for example the desired document of the author Brown has been found, it takes just another click to display all the available documents linked with Mr. Brown.
Opposite to the time consuming client deployment as in case of common desktop-searches, IntraSeek has to be installed just once for all employees of a company. The administration can be managed comfortably via the same web interface.
With the final release of IntraSeek a commercial version is being planned apart from the free version. The commercial license is based on user accounts and will offer a very attractive pricing.
The commercial version has a strong focus on small and medium-sized companies. Those particularly have an increasing problem with an easy finding of documents due to the continuously growing amount of data in their central file system. Using IntraSeek the cost and time related with searching and finding can be reduced dramatically.
IntraSeek is based 100% on Microsoft’ s .NET-technology. It runs ideally with usual Microsoft products as for example:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2000 or 2003,
- IIS 5.0 or 6.0 with ASP.NET 1.1,
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or higher, alternatively free MSDE-version,
- Optionally Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or 2003.
The free beta version of IntraSeek can be downloaded starting today. Further information and download: www.intraseek.net
